Een patroon van een poef - A pattern of a footstool

Toen ik deze poef zag wist ik het: dit wil ik echt heel graag maken! Is 'ie niet extreem gaaf? De poef hierboven is gehaakt en de poef hieronder is gebreid. Je kunt een compleet pakket in deze webwinkel kopen waar alles in zit om de poef te breien of te haken. Er zijn drie verschillende kleuren te krijgen en je haakt of breit met naalddikte 12mm of 15mm (afhankelijk van de kleur). Het patroon is er alleen in het Nederlands, maar op verzoek kan het eventueel vertaald worden in het Engels. Neem dan hier even contact op met Jantine van Knutseltasjes. Het patroon kan trouwens alleen in combinatie met het pakket verkregen worden. De wol wordt ook los verkocht. Een ander patroon kun je hier vinden.

Deze gehaakte paddestoel kwam ik tegen op de blog van Lisa. Het is een heel makkelijk patroon, ik heb 'm in een avond gemaakt. Nu nog een goeie bestemming vinden. Hij was bedoeld als sleutelhanger maar  hij werd vijf keer zo groot als ik had verwacht dus dat is niet zo handig (-:
Ik verkoop trouwens ook een set met paddestoelenpatroontjes is mijn Etsy-winkel. Klik hier om daar naartoe te gaan.

I found this crochet mushroom on Lisa's blog. The pattern is very easy, I made this in one evening. Now I need to find a good place for it. It was supposed to be a keychain but it became five times bigger then I expected so that's not very convenient (-: By the way, I do sell a pack of toadstool patterns in my Etsy-shop. Squares and... Twitter

Hier zijn wat foto's van de squares die ik naar het Knit-A-Square Project ga sturen. De laatste square was nog een aardige uitdaging want ik wilde een bloem middenin maken. Ik geloof dat het best goed gelukt is en ik hoop dat het er leuk uitziet als het deel uitmaakt van een deken.

Herinner je je het kussen hierboven nog? Op Flickr vroeg iemand me om op te schrijven hoe ik ze aan elkaar genaaid heb. Het is niet zo moeilijk, maar ik had gewoonweg geen tijd om het op te schrijven. Maar vanavond heb ik het alsnog uitgeschreven en hier is het: squares naaien. Wat ik niet gebruik - What I don't use

Een tijd geleden heb ik samen met een aantal forumleden van Hobbydoos een heleboel squares gemaakt voor het Knit-A-Square Project. Het Knit-A-Square Project is een Zuid-Afrikaans project waar men dekens maakt en uitdeelt aan weeskinderen. Deze dekens worden gemaakt van gehaakte of gebreide vierkantjes die van over de hele wereld naar ze toegestuurd worden. Deze week kreeg ik weer een nieuwsbrief en bij het zien van de foto's wilde ik meteen weer een paar sturen. Het is heel makkelijk, je haakt of breit een vierkantje van 20 x 20 cm en stuurt het naar ze op. Als je ze goed opvouwt kunnen er best veel in een envelop, en zijn de verzendkosten niet al te hoog. Heb je dus wol over en weet je niet wat je er mee moet? Dit is een hele mooie bestemming. Meer informatie vind je hier. Kijk wel goed naar de brei-, haak- verzendinstructies voordat je iets opstuurt.

Some time ago I made a lot of squares for the Knit-A-Square Project together with the members of the Dutch forum Hobbydoos. The Knit-A-Square Project is a South-African project where they make blankets to hand out to under aged orphans. These blankets are being made of crocheted or knitted squares that are send to them from all over the world. This week I received the newsletter again and when I saw the pictures I immediately wanted to send some squares again. It's very easy, you just crochet or knit a square of 20 x 20 cm (8" x 8") and you send it to them. If you fold them right, quite an amount of squares can be put in an envelope, and the costs are not very high. So do you have yarn that you don't use? This is a very nice way of using it. More information can be found here. Please don't forget to take notice of the knitting or crochet instructions and check the postal instructions as well before you send anything.

Een kleine deken - A little blanket

Deze deken heb ik in een keer gehaakt. Het heeft me natuurlijk wel een heleboel avondjes gekost om 'm te maken, maar het is een hele grote square die groot genoeg is om in een wieg of kinderwagen te leggen. Ik heb er nog geen bestemming voor, maar het is op een dag vast een mooi kadootje voor iemand.

I've crocheted this blanket in one piece. Ofcourse it took me a lot of evenings to make it, but it is a very big square that is big enough for a crib or a buggy. I don't have a destination for it yet, but it will be a nice present one day I guess.

Dit is Rudolph! Ik heb hem gemaakt voor het dochtertje van een vriendin. De sjaal hoorde niet bij het patroontje, maar ik vond dat hij die ook moest hebben (-: Voor haar pasgeboren broertje ben ik een dekentje aan het maken. Ik hoop dat ik het af krijg voor het weekend voorbij is want dan kan het snel op de bus. Ik hoop dat ze er blij mee zijn!

This is Rudolph! I've made him for the daughter of a friend of mine. The scarf wasn't part of the pattern, but I thought he had to have that as well (-: For her newborn brother I'm making a blanket. I hope to finish that one before the weekend is over, so I can post it soon. I hope they'll like it!

De website van Christel Krukkert stond al tussen het lijstje met mijn favoriete site, maar nu kan er een favoriet boek bij in mijn boekenkast. Granny Square Cushion

Momenteel ben ik in de ban van de klassieke granny square. Er zijn zoveel leuke varianten te verzinnen, ik ben nog niet halverwege de ene als ik de volgende al weer heb bedacht en wil maken. Dit kussen is qua squares helemaal zoals die moest worden. Het enige wat niet goed ging is het formaat zoals je aan de onderkant kunt zien. Maar goed, niet alles kan goed gaan en hier verzin ik wel weer wat op. Wil je ook granny squares maken maar weet je niet hoe? Kijk hier voor een patroon en een foto tutorial.

At the moment I am obsessed by the classic granny square. There are so many possibilities, I am nog even half way a square when I have thought about the next square that I want to make. As far as the granny square goes it is totally the way it should be. As you can probably see, the only thing that went wrong is the size of it. Horseriding



Deze week is zo'n week die voorbij vliegt. Veel werken, hard werken en ondertussen ook leuke dingen naast het werk. Zoals de buitenrit die ik maakte afgelopen dinsdagavond op mijn favoriete paard. Een prachtige avond zonder wind, een mooie ondergaande zon en een laag met mist over de weilanden. Het leek wel een film. En dan gisteravond. Ook weer zo'n mooie avond waarop vriendlief en ik besloten nog even te genieten van het lekkere weer door op een terrasje in de stad te gaan eten. En dan vandaag. Mijn nieuwe voorraad wol werd afgeleverd dus ik kan er weer volop tegenaan. Ik heb een hoop projecten af te maken, maar gelukkig ook een paar mooie sites ontdekt waar ik weer inspiratie op kan doen voor alles wat hierna komt. Dit is een van die sites. Er zijn een aantal geweldige tutorials op te vinden dus neem vooral eens een kijkje.

This week is a week that is over before I've gotten used to it. A lot of work, hard work and in the meantime also a lot of fun things to do besides working. Like the ride outside on my favourite horse. A beautiful evening without wind, a lovely sunset and a thick fog over the meadows. It looked like a movie. And then there was last night. Another lovely evening on which my boyfriend and I decided to enjoy the lovely weather by having diner on a terrace in the town centre. And then there was today. My new stock of wool was delivered so I can start finishing my projects. I have a lot of things that I need to finish, and fortunately I've also discovered a few lovely sites where I can find enough inspiration for future projects. This is one of them. There are a few lovely tutorials on that blog so you should definitely go over and take a look.

Trots - Proud

Heb je dat ook wel eens? Dat je iets gemaakt hebt waar je net iets trotser op bent dan op alle andere dingen die je maakte? Dat heb ik met deze deken (-: Misschien komt het wel omdat ik van deze deken elk vierkantje met heel veel plezier heb gemaakt. Ik zag de deken groeien en hij werd precies zoals ik het had gehoopt. Deze deken is ongeveer 75 x 130 cm. Trots als ik ben (-: heb ik er nog meer foto's van gemaakt. Die kun je vinden in mijn Flickr-album.

Do you ever have that? That you've made something that you're just a little bit prouder of then all the other things you've made? That's what I have with this blanket (-: Perhaps it is because I've made every square of this blanket with so much joy. I saw this throw grow and it became exactly the way I hoped it would be. This throw is approximately 75 x 130 cm. Proud as I am (-: I've made some more pictures of it. You can find them in my Flickr-album.

Granny Square Pillow

Vanmiddag in het zonnetje een achterkant gehaakt en meteen maar in elkaar gezet. Op naar het volgende project!

This afternoon I've crocheted the back while sitting in the sun. Now it's on to the next project!

Bloemen square - Flower square

Ik vind het echt heel erg leuk om nieuwe granny squares te maken zonder gebruik te maken van een patroon. Nu is vast elke granny die je kunt verzinnen al een keer gemaakt, maar toch is het een leuk om er zelf over na te denken. Deze granny kwam tot stand omdat ik graag een bloem in het midden wilde. Een beetje vogelen leverde dit resultaat op. Het patroon heb ik niet uitgeschreven, maar als iemand interesse heeft laat het dan weten. Misschien dat ik het dan de komende dagen op papier zet.

I really like to create new granny squares without using a pattern. Although every granny you can think of probably has been made already, still it is nice to think about it yourself. This granny came to life because I wanted a flower in the centre. I've tried a few things and in the end this was the result. I didn't write down the pattern, but if anyone is interested let me know. Maybe I'll write it down in the next few days then.

Een nieuw begin? - A new beginning?

De vakantie zit er op! We zijn weer thuis na een lange en vermoeiende reis en eigenlijk is thuis zijn ook weer heel fijn. Bovendien, er wachten ons spannende tijden! Mijn huis staat momenteel te koop en het huis van R. (mijn vriend) ook. We gaan namelijk na heel veel jaartjes eindelijk samen een huis kopen en daar ons eigen stekkie van maken. Als het tenminste zo mag zijn dat onze huizen verkopen in deze lastige tijd. Hoe dan ook, een spannende nieuwe tijd vraagt om een nieuwe granny square! (-: Deze ontstond tijdens mijn vakantie. Zoals je kunt zien is het gewoon een traditionele square, alleen de kleuren heb ik een beetje op een andere manier ingedeeld.

The holiday is over! We're home again after a long and exhausting journey and actually being at home is also really nice again. Besides, a really exciting time is coming up! My house is for sale right now and so is the house of R. (my boyfriend). After a lot of years together we are finally about to buy a house together and make it our own happy place. That is if our houses sell in these difficult times. However, an exciting new time asks for a new granny square! (-: I made this one during my holiday. As you can see it's just a traditional square, but the colours are arranged in a bit of a different way.

Dit was het weer van de afgelopen anderhalve week (-: Niets dan blauwe lucht. Af en toe een wolkje maar dat was het dan ook wel. Morgen beginnen we weer aan onze terugreis naar Nederland. Sneak preview

Sinds mijn laatste berichtje ben ik bezig met een nieuw project. Deze foto is een sneak preview! Ik hoop dat ik het af heb zodra ik terug ben in Nederland.
Overigens, het is me opgevallen dat er een paar vragen stonden tussen de reacties van mijn vorige berichtjes, dus ik zal die nu beantwoorden.
Allereerst, de mozaiek foto van de Franse Alpen is gemaakt met behulp van BigHugeLabs.
Daarnaast kreeg ik de vraag hoe lang ik over de deken gedaan heb met de cirkels erin. Ik ben ongeveer zes weken geleden begonnen, maar ik was natuurlijk niet in de gelegenheid non-stop te haken.
Voor wat betreft de maat van de deken: ik kan de maten hier helaas niet opnemen, maar ik laat jullie weten hoe groot de deken is zodra ik terug ben in Nederland.
Of ik met meer dekens tegelijkertijd bezig ben? Ja, meestal ben ik dat inderdaad.
Nou, volgens mij waren dat voor nu alle vragen. Als iemand meer vragen heeft dan hoor ik het natuurlijk graag!

Since my last post I have been working on a new project. This picture is a sneak preview! I hope to have it finished as soon as I get back in Holland.
Now, I've noticed there were some questions in the comments under my last posts, so I'll answer them right now.
First of all, the mosaic picture of the French Alpes was made with the help of BigHugeLabs.
Then I got the question how long it took me to make the blanket with the circles. I started about six weeks ago, but ofcourse I wasn't able to crochet non-stop.
About the size of the blanket: I cannot take its measures here, but I will let you know how big it is as soon as I get back home.
If I'm working on multiple blankets at the same time? Yes, most of the time I am.
Well, I think those were all the questions for now. If anyone has more questions, please let me know!

Af! - Finished!

En hij is af! Mijn granny square blanket is niet zo groot geworden als ik in eerste instantie had gepland, maar hij is precies groot genoeg om lekker onder te liggen als het weer winter wordt. Maar winter is het hier zeker niet. We genieten al een paar dagen van het uitzicht en de 30 graden. Ik heb trouwens net alle reacties gelezen op mijn vorige berichtjes van de afgelopen dagen. Heel erg bedankt voor alle leuke berichtjes!

And it is finished! My granny square blanket didn't become as big as I planned, but it has exactly the right size to lay under as soon as winter is back again. But it isn't winter here for sure. We've been enjoying the view and 30 degrees for the last couple of days. By the way, I've just read all comments on my previous posts of the last days. Thanks so much for all your lovely comments!

Haken op vakantie - Crochet on holiday

De bovenstaande foto is gemaakt op een Franse parkeerplaats terwijl we aan het uitrusten waren van de lange reis. We zijn bijna aangekomen bij het Italiaanse vakantiehuisje wat we voor de komende twee weken hebben gehuurd. Hieronder een kleine fotoimpressie van wat we onderweg hebben gezien. Voor diegene die precies wil weten waar we waren, de foto's zijn gemaakt terwijl we een deel van La Route des Grandes Alpes reden in het noordoosten van Frankrijk.

The picture on top was made while we were resting from the long journey on a French parking-lot. We've almost reached the Italian holiday cottage that we've rented for the next two weeks. On the picture below you see a little impression of what we've seen on the way over here. For those who want to know where we were exactly, the pictures were made while we were driving part of La Route des Grandes Alpes in the north west of France.

Award!

Terwijl ik onderweg was naar Italie (en dat nog steeds ben) kreeg ik twee extra leuke berichtjes. Een van Grietjekarwietje en een van Clara's Crochet Room. Ze gaven mij allebei The Versatile Blogger Award en ik ben er ontzettend blij mee! Omdat ik al een paar keer andere blogs een award heb gegeven en er zoveel moois in blogland te vinden is heb ik besloten om de award niet door te geven. Ik hoop dat jullie daar begrip voor hebben!
De bedoeling van deze award is dat ik nu minstens vijf dingen over mezelf vertel. Vooruit dan maar, hier komen ze:

* Ik hou ontzettend van kwarktaart. Vooral de kwarktaart van mijn moeder is extreem lekker!
* Ik ben gek op winkelen, en dan vooral in Engelse winkelcentra. Ik weet niet waarom maar alles lijkt daar leuker. Je kunt me er zo voor altijd achterlaten.
* Niet heel erg gebruikelijk voor een meisje, maar toch is het zo: ik hou van mooie auto's en van motor rijden. Ik heb dus ook mijn motorrijbewijs.
* Ik word heel boos als ik heel erg trek heb. Het is een gebrek-aan-suiker-achtig iets denk ik.
* Ik zou heel graag nog eens naar Lapland of Amerika willen maar omdat ik vliegen best eng vind weet ik niet of het er ooit van zal komen.

While I was on my way to Italy (and still am), I got two extra special messages. One of Grietjekarwietje and one of Clara's Crochet Room. They both gave me The Versatile Blogger Award and I am so happy with it! But, now that I've given an award to other blogs a few times and now that there are so many nice things in Blog-land, I've decided not to pass the award on. I hope you'll understand!
So with accepting this award I am supposed to mention at least five things about myself. Well, allright then. Here they are:

* I love cheesecake. Especially my mothers cheesecake is very nice!
* I love shopping and I especially love English shopping centres. I don't know why but everything seems nicer there. You can leave me there forever.
* Not very common for a girl, but it's the truth: I love nice cars and driving a motorbike. I do have a license for riding bikes.
* I get really angry when I'm very hungry. It's a lack-of-sugar kind of thing I guess.
* I would love to go to Lapland or America one day but now that I think flying is very scary, I'm not sure if it will ever happen.

Goed nieuws! Ik mag het patroon van het hartje hier in zijn geheel in het Engels en het Nederlands plaatsen. Dat ga ik dus een dezer dagen doen, maar omdat ik er denk ik pas dit weekend aan toe kom hierbij een ander leuk patroontje. Ik vond het op de site van Little Birdie. Het zijn de twee vlindertjes op de foto. Ik heb er een veiligheidsspeld achter gedaan, dus je kunt ze aan een tas vastmaken, aan een haarband of op je jas prikken. Kun je niet haken maar vind je de vlindertjes wel leuk, laat het me dan weten. Ik stuur een paar vlindertjes naar je toe in een kleur naar keuze als je de eerste bent die in een reactie op dit bericht laat weten dat je ze wilt hebben. Te laat maar wel geinteresseerd in een paar vlindertjes? Laat het me dan ook weten. Als meer mensen geinteresseerd zijn doe ik misschien nog eens zo'n Giveway binnenkort.

I will definitely do that one of these days, but now that I'll probably only have time fot that this weekend, I'll post another nice pattern here for now. I found it at the website of Little Birdie. The pattern is of the two butterflies on the picture. I've attached a safety pin on the back, so you can attach them to a bag, a headband or place them on your jacket. If you can't crochet but do like the butterflies, let me know. Hartjes - Hearts

Ik hou van hartjes. In het bijzonder gehaakte hartjes. Deze hartjes zijn gemaakt van een bestaand patroon wat ik een beetje aangepast heb. Omdat het niet in zijn geheel mijn patroon is kan ik het hier nu niet plaatsen, maar ik ben bezig met het krijgen van toestemming om dat toch te doen. Laat me weten als je het patroon wilt hebben, dan ga ik er nog meer mijn best voor doen. (-:

Waar je nog een raamkozijn moest schilderen, een lamp op moest hangen en de trap nog een keer moest schilderen om het echt perfect te laten lijken? Nou, dat heb ik gedaan ongeveer een jaar geleden. En de laatste twee weken hebben we geprobeerd om al die klusjes eindelijk eens af te maken. Daarom heb ik de laatste tijd niet heel veel gehaakt. Maar nu is alles bijna af, en ga ik bijna voor een vakantie van twee weken naar Italie! Daar kijk ik echt heel erg naar uit! Ik hoop dat ik binnenkort weer wat dingen op mijn blog kan laten zien die ik gemaakt heb. In de tussentijd hoop ik dat je Link Your Stuff leuk vond. Wil je ze allemaal zien? Have you ever moved into a house that wasn't finished? Where you still had to paint a window frame, hang a lamp and paint the stairs to make it look perfect? Well, I did about a year ago. And the last two weeks we finally tried to finish all these things. That's why I haven't been crocheting a lot lately. But now everything is almost done, and I'm almost leaving to Italy for a two-week holiday! I'm really looking forward to that! I hope to show some of the things I'll be making soon on my blog again.
