Blue Violets Blanket

This is the Blue Violets Blanket, a blanket I designed for my book Crochet in the City that was released in 2018. It seems like such a long time ago that the book was published, but I can still clearly remember when I worked on this blanket. The bigger it got, the happier I got. I still think it's one of the most beautiful projects in the book. I'm now working on adding the patterns from the book to my Etsy-shop. That's quite a lot of work and at the moment only the English version of this pattern is available. You can order it here. The book is also still available. Click here to have a look at it. I wish you a nice day!

Crochet Christmas Trees

Someone on Instagram had crocheted my Christmas trees. I wrote out the pattern in 2011 and every year in december that blog post is very popular. I crocheted the trees back then in red, white and green. But the person who crocheted the trees on Instagram used cheerful colours, and that inspired me to do the same with other colours and Drops Paris cotton. It's nice to crochet again with Drops Paris. I crocheted a lot with that in the early days of my blog. Slowly I switched to thinner yarn and a smaller crochet hook, but now that I'm back with this cotton I remember why I liked it so much. A lot of people complained at the time that that thread splits easily. It never bothered me that much and I noticed that sometimes the reason it splits is the crochet hook people were using. I still use my very first crochet hook for this cotton. I bought it in 2010 and it's one of the best crochet hooks I ever had (I think it was a Lana Grossa one). So today I'll continue with these Christmas trees. I still need to make the trunks and I have to stuff them slightly so I have some work to do. The pattern of the Christmas trees can be found here in this old blog post. I wish you a nice Sunday and lots of fun crocheting these trees.

Katia Seacell Cotton

A while ago I crocheted this blanket and pillow from Katia Seacell Cotton. It was such a nice project to make. I used 1 ball of each color and a crochet hook size 4mm. The yarn is so lovely and soft, I will definitely use it again for another blanket. The pattern of the blanket can be found here on Ravelry. The pillow is actually a very simple striped pattern of half double crochet stitches (US terms). The size of the pillow depends on how much yarn you have left after crocheting the blanket. Of course you can also buy extra balls, but I always like to see what I can make with 1 ball. More blanket patterns are here, more cushion patterns are here. I wish you a happy Sunday!

Welkom bij Link Your Stuff!

Welcome at Link Your Stuff! Nice that so many people participated in last weeks link party. There were so many great projects among them. It was hard to choose which one I would put in the spotlight this week. I chose colorful projects, because that suits this sunny weather a bit. I wish you a great day and a lot of fun with this week's Link Your Stuff.

Cloud Cushion

It took a while but the cloud I started making (read about it here) is finally finished. I really think it has become super cute. In the original pattern the cloud is white, but I still had a lot of gray, so that's why I opted for gray. The cloud was not difficult to make but in the end much bigger than I thought. I crocheted with crochet hook 3.5mm and two balls of Durable Coral Light Grey. The size is just right for me (approximately 30cm wide), but the pattern is based on crochet hook 6.5mm. So then you get a really big cloud. The book can be found here, and the loose pattern of the cloud can be found here. The pillow in the background is matches with the blanket in the foreground. I will tell you more about that this weekend. Have a nice day!
