In het begin vond ik het heerlijk om te haken in coronatijd. Ik begon ook meer te bloggen en ik genoot eigenlijk wel van de energie die ik had doordat ik minder onderweg was. Maar langzamerhand begon dat anders te worden. Voorheen zat ik thuis veel achter mijn computer om te bloggen, haakpatronen te zoeken en gewoon inspiratie op te doen. Maar nu ik vooral thuis werk is mijn computer opeens een 'werkding' geworden. En de tafel waar ik altijd aan zat te haken is opeens een werktafel geworden. Dus 's avonds heb ik eigenlijk helemaal geen zin meer om mijn computer open te klappen of aan een tafel te zitten haken waar ik overdag aan zit te werken. Af en toe loop ik met een doos garen naar de bank en haak ik wat rijen van een grote granny square blanket. Maar soms blijft de doos alleen naast me staan en zet ik hem op een gegeven moment maar weer weg. Ik vind het wel jammer, want ik haalde altijd zoveel plezier uit het haken. Dus gisteravond heb ik eens een paar boeken erbij gepakt die ik vorig jaar had besteld en waar ik nog niks uit had gemaakt. Het gaat om Crochet Wreaths & Garlands van Kate Eastwood, Superzachte Knuffels van Eleonore & Maurice en Sweet Crochet Friends van Khuc Cay. Ik werd tijdens het bladeren toch wel weer enthousiast en ben nu begonnen aan een patroontje uit het boek van Eleonore en Maurice. Ik vraag me ondertussen af of ik de enige ben bij wie het haken anders is geworden. Haak jij meer? Of ook juist minder? Of heb je een hele andere hobby gevonden? Ik freubel ondertussen verder en ik hoop dat het fijne haakgevoel weer even blijft.
In the beginning, I loved to crochet during these corona times. I also started blogging more and I actually enjoyed the energy I had from being on the road less. But gradually that started to change. Before, I used to sit at my home computer a lot to do some blogging, looking up crochet patterns and just getting inspiration. But now that I work mostly at home my computer has suddenly become a 'work thing'. And the table I used to sit at to crochet has suddenly becomes some sort of office table. So in the evening, I don't really feel like opening up my computer at all anymore. And I don't want to crochet at a table that I'm working at during the day. Occasionally I walk over to the couch with a box of yarn and then I crochet some rows of a big granny square blanket. But sometimes the box just stays next to me and I just put it away at some point not having done anything with it. I do think it's a shame, because I always got so much pleasure out of crocheting. So last night I picked up a couple of books that I ordered last year and hadn't made anything from yet. They are Crochet Wreaths & Garlands by Kate Eastwood, Cute Amigurumi Animals by Eleonore and Maurice and Sweet Crochet Friends by Khuc Cay. I did get excited again while looking at all the pretty pictures and have now started on a pattern from Eleonore and Maurice's book. I wonder if I'm the only one whose crochet rhythm has changed. Do you crochet more? Or less? Or have you found a completely different hobby? In the meantime I continue to crochet and I hope that the nice feeling of crochet will stay for a while.
