Yarn Party & Giveaway

Succes!

Yesterday I had a supercool yarn party! This time we were invited by Draad en Praat at Knotten in Delft (so around the corner for me) and we got to test Lang Yarns. It was so much fun and I also learned a few new things. For the first time I knitted in the round, and I finally saw how to do Tunisian Crochet. I had never seen that before so I liked it a lot. The yarns were truly magnificent! Francis from Knotten explained that these are the more pricy yarns, and we could very well see and feel it. the colors were so pretty and I already picked my favourite one. Now I just have to decide what to make of it.
By the way, I'm going to the Handwerkbeurs in Zwolle in two weeks time! And I love to tell you that I can give away two tickets to one of my followers. Stephanie from the website Vilt & Knopen won a ticket for this fair in 2013 here on my blog, and now she offers two tickets to one of my followers. Isn't that sweet? So do you want to win two tickets? Leave a comment below and explain what inspires your creativeness. I'll announce the winner this Wednesday. Good luck!

Bunny rattle

Leuk toch, zo'n kraamkadootje?

If you visit the blog of Aan de Haak magazine every now and then, you might have seen this rattle already. I made it as a gift for a newborn. The pattern is from Stip en Haak and you can find it here on the page with free patterns (also in English). I also made a pink version. They are very easy and fun to make. For this rattle you need: a little bell/ball for the rattle, a wooden ring, yarn in blue, white and black (I used Phildar Phil Coton 3) and a matching crochet hook. Isn't this a cute gift?

Fox ragdoll

Just recently I bought two books for myself, because they looked so cute and I just wanted to have some new books to try. I bought: Gehaakte lappenpoppen en Gehaakte lappenpoppen 2. Both books are written by Sascha Blaes that we know from the website AlaSascha. This fox is in Gehaakte lappenpoppen 2. There's also a pattern of a mini-fox in te book, and I'd love to make that one too. I bought the books because all ragdolls look so cute and the patterns didn't look too complicated. So were they not very complicated? No, the were not. The patterns are very easy to follow and all dolls are very cute and pretty. In the book you will find suggestions for the yarn that you can use. I had some Phildar Phil Coton 3 in my yarn stash, so that's what I used for this fox. The fox looks a bit different then in the book, because Sascha used Scheepjes Stone Washed. I don't know how much yarn I used, but if you purchase two balls you will certainly have enough. I used colour Vitamine (6) and a crochet hook 6mm. So now I'm off sewing all arms, legs and ears to this cute fox. Have a lovely day!

Gunther the Fox

Gunther is ready, isn't he cute? The pattern (in English) is here. You can make Gunther in any other color, check here and here for cute examples. I made Gunther before, and when you look at that Gunther you can see why it is so important to use yarn balls from the same dye lot. Check out the blog post about it here. Like every Gunther I made this one with Phildar Phil Coton 3.

Granny Square Pencil Case

I finally finished the pencil case from granny squares that you join as you go. I blogged about it before, you can read that blog post here. The pattern is available here. As you can see the squares in the original pattern look slightly different. I made my squares just as described in the pattern, but I used different yarn and a different crochet hook, so it looks a bit different. I used a crochet hook size 2.5mm and Cotton Eight yarn. I also made a lining and a few button holes, so I can close the pencil case with buttons.

Gunther the Fox

A long time ago I made Gunther the Fox. I really loved him, but eventually I gave him away. And everytime I saw Gunther on Instagram I thought: I have to make me one again. So this week I started, it's such a cute pattern. You can find it here (in English) on the website of La Maison Victor.

It's 2017! I wish you all a happy and creative new year. It's great to have you here again. I have so many ideas for the upcoming year, my blog-agenda is pretty full already.
The year 2016 ended with me searching for a cute granny square pattern, and during my search I found this pattern. The great thing about this pattern is that you join the squares while you crochet them. Very easy, especially when you don't like to join all squares afterwards. If you go to the page where you can find the pattern, you will also find a diagram of it. I crocheted the blue, green and yellow part and skipped the rest. I think I'll make a little purse of it, as soon as it's done I'll show it here.
