I wish you...

♥ Click this link if you want to follow my blog with Bloglovin ♥

The last night of the year already! I've looked it up and I wrote my first blog post almost a year ago, on the 2nd of January 2010. I'm looking back at a very nice year in which I've been tremendously inspired by all blogs of other people on which I've seen so many gorgeous things. Thank you all!
I wish everyone an enormous amount of creativity in the new year and I hope you will all have an extraordinary 2011. Enjoy this last evening in 2010!

Hearts Swap

On this blog (update: the blog no longer exists) I found an incredibly nice swap: the Hearts Swap! I've already signed in. You can sign in until January 1st. On January 3rd you'll hear for who you'll have to make a heart. On March 1st your swap-partner must have received the heart. On the 5th of March everyone has to write about this on their blog. I really love the idea. Who else is going to join? You can make the heart the way you want it. It can be crochet, knitting, felting, embroidery... whatever you like, as long as there is a loop attached to it so you can hang it.
Please note: you cannot sign in on my blog! The swap is from Scrappatch.

Merry Christmas!

I hope you are all having a fabulous Christmas. I've tried to visit everyone from every blog that was here last year to wish everyone a lovely Christmas, but it turned out to be a bit of a huge job (-: So for everyone I did not with a nice Christmas 'in person': Merry Christmas!

Crochet Mice

Last night I sold my first item in my Etsy-shop. I sold it to one of my Blog-followers! How incredibly sweet! I posted the package today and I hope she'll be really happy with it. Furthermore I was really happily surprised this morning when I noticed that Johnnie of Saved By Love Creations mentioned me and my Etsy-shop on her blog. She has a Blog Hop so if you would like to join it, go over to her blog by clicking on this link. Oh and if you would like to make these mice, the pattern is here.

Are you on Etsy?

First of all I would like to thank everyone who posted such a nice comment underneath my previous post. I was so happily surprised when I read all those kind words. Thanks so much!

As you can probably see this post is about Etsy! Are you on Etsy? I've only just started and I'm trying to find out how you can get visitors to your Etsy-shop. So the question is... how do you do that? Let me know, I'm really curious!

My house

The 'I Love My House'-garland (-: You can find it in my Etsy-shop

Snif...

Two years ago I bought my house. It's build in 1865 and it's the nicest house I ever had. It is in the middle of town centre, but it's amazingly quiet here. In this house I learnt how to knit. And then crochet. And then I started with blogging, Flickr and Etsy. And in the meantime my boyfriend (who has his own house) and I were more and more often in this house. Our lives changed and we started to get so very used to Delft that we wanted to live here together. But unfortunately my house is too small. So that's why it is sold now. All of a sudden everything happens so quickly. This morning I heard that my house has to be empty before the end of this year. And although I am really happy with the fact that we will start a new period together, it will be very strange to close this door behind me. I am very glad that our new house is also situated in Delft, but that's not ours yet. So, a very exciting time is coming up. But first... I'll have to pack my stuff and say goodbye to this house. Sniff..

Gift Tags

This weekend I finished a pair of mittens. They were ordered by a friend of my niece, and I think every order has to go with a gift tag attached to it. Just recently I found this stamp of a little heart. That goes very well with my blog logo, so I ordered one immediately. Are you looking for a nice stamp as well? Then visit the webshop Psikhouvanjou.

Not only a Blog Hop...

So I hope you enjoyed the Blog Hop! I guess you did because there were a lot of entries. Thanks everyone for joining and I would like to welcome my new followers.
Well, I didn't only Blog Hop yesterday. I hopped to the site of Etsy as well and I finally decided to start my own Etsy shop. It doens't have a lot of items in it yet, but I have a few projects going on that will probably be in there too very soon. So, I'm off to crochet! I wish you all a great Sunday!

Link Your Stuff and... Hop!

The owner of this cute frog is Penny. Please visit her Etsy-shop by clicking here to find some really cute crochet and knitting patterns!

Goed nieuws! Vanaf vandaag is Link Your Stuff een Blog Hop geworden. Wat is een Blog Hop? Heel simpel.
(-:) Dus... Link Your Stuff and Hop! (-:

Great news! Link Your Stuff is still there and... maybe even better! As from today Link Your Stuff is a Blog Hop. What's a Blog Hop? It's very simple. It is still possible, just as before, to add a picture and a link to your own blog. If that's all you want to do then that's possible.
But... do you want all these pictures on your blog just like me? Then click underneath this post (so below the added pictures) on 'Get the code here'. Copy this code to a new post on your blog, publish that post and you'll have the same nice pictures on you blog. If I've read it well every new picture that is being added to one of the joining blogs will also automatically be added to the other joining blogs. That way, you can hop from blog to blog, and so you don't have to return to my blog every time (although you are very very welcome here (-:) So... Link Your Stuff and Hop! (-:

Christmas - Kerst

Liever kerststerren of kerstboompjes haken?

Are you crocheting for Christmas? Unfortunately I don't have the time to crochet these days. But I'm glad that I did have the time to find some lovely things on other websites. Check the blog of Color Chic. There are some really nice Christmas balls on there with a link to the (English) pattern. Do you prefer making Christmas stars or Christmas trees? Then check out the blog of Royal Sisters. Lastly a few patterns of really nice Christmas ornaments here. Do you want to be inspired somewhere else? Then check out my Flickr-group Christmas Crochet. Meanwhile there are already 70 members (yay!) so there are already a lot of really nice pictures there. The picture above this post is from one of my favourite sites, namely Pickles. There's an (English) pattern on their site of these gorgeous ornaments on the picture.

Christmas Angel - Kerstengel

I am making a package for my mother with nice Christmas presents. One of the things that will be in the package is this crochet Christmas Angel. The pattern was quite difficult, so the lower part is my own design because I really didn't get it right. For who wants to try, you can find the pattern here (only available in Dutch). By the way, if you are on Flickr as well, please come and take a look at my Flickr-group Christmas Crochet. You can add picture's there of everything you've crocheted in the Christmas theme.

Mice - Muizen

My niece Noor turned five this weekend, and next week she'll be giving a birthday party. To thank the little guests for coming, I crocheted these mice that will be handed out at the end of the party. Noor's mamma will attach a nice card to them and then all we can do is hoping that this gift will be well received.
The pattern of these mice will be posted on this blog somewhere this week. For those of you who can't crochet: send me an email if you're interested because ofcourse they can be ordered.

A really cool book!

Last Tuesdayevening my sister gave me this book. A really lovely present because there are so many really nice things in it! All sorts of tips about (amongst others) crochet and knitting, including really gorgeous patterns of granny squares. But also stitches I had never heard. So, are you ever in the position of buying this book, then do so. It really is worth while.

Pattern books - Patronen boeken

* Mostly Mittens: Ethnic Knitting Designs from Russia

* Cabled Accessories to knit

* Latvian Mittens: Traditional Designs & Techniques

* Socks, Mittens and Accessories

* Hats, Scarves, & Mittens for the Family Book

* Hip Haakwerk, Jan Eaton (een beschrijving van het boek staat op de blog van Lindevrouw, die ook hele mooie wanten heeft gemaakt!)

There are a lot of crochet- and knittingbooks out there, but I must admit I only have a few basic books on How To Crochet en How to Knit. But, yesterday I've ordered my first crochet book with real patterns: Weekend Crochet. I think it looks great from the outside, and the idea of being able to crochet a full project in one weekend sounds really nice as well. But, am I the one who can advise you which crochet book you should buy? No, I don't think so. But I came across a few really nice ones that I would love to have. Here they are:

* Mostly Mittens: Ethnic Knitting Designs from Russia

* Cabled Accessories to knit

* Latvian Mittens: Traditional Designs & Techniques

* Socks, Mittens and Accessories

* Hats, Scarves, & Mittens for the Family Book

* Hip Haakwerk, Jan Eaton (for a description of this book check the blog of Lindevrouw who also made really nice mittens!)

Mittens on Etsy - Wanten op Etsy

*** Don't forget to enter the Children's Mitten Giveaway! Click here if you want to enter. ***

Don't you knit or crochet or is making mittens not what you like? You can still look at Etsy and choose a nice pair there. Etsy is, as far as I'm concerned, the most under-appreciated webshop there is. There are so many lovely mittens (and other things) there! Take a look at these mittens for example. Looking for childrens mittens? Then maybe you like the mittens on the picture. They can be found here in the Etsy-shop of Cynthia. These are nice as well, and these, these and... sigh! I love them all! (-:

Patterns - Patronen

Mittens can be found in all kinds and sizes, but actually there are a lot of fairly easy patterns that can be made by a crocheter or knitter that is a beginner as well. Just check the site of Garnstudio. Another site I'd love to visit is the site of Pickles. On this site there is a knitting pattern for really cute children's mittens, but also Mittens for Miss. On Etsy you can find a lot of patterns as well. The mittens on the picture above are made by Bananamoonstudio. You can buy a finished pair in the Etsy-shop of Bananamoonstudio, but you can also buy the pattern in her Etsy-store or on Ravelry.
Ofcourse there are a lot more patterns to be found on the web. A few patterns that I like very much:
crochet mittens (Dutch), Bella McBride Crochet Patterns, various free patterns (only available in Dutch) and the basic crocheted mittens. Do you want to see the mittens I've made so far? Just check my Flickr-page.

Mittens Week & Giveaway! - Wanten Week & Giveaway!

Ever since I saw the pattern of Vicarno's Mama I am totally addicted to crocheting mittens. So that's why I thought blogging a full week only about mittens must be so much fun. So that's how the idea of Mittens Week crossed my mind. As from tomorrow I'll have a daily post with nice patterns, lovely books and lots more. And what's Mittens Week without a Mittens Giveaway? Therefore ofcourse there is a Giveaway! Do you want to join and win a pair of Surprise Childrens Mittens? Leave a comment on this post. I'll announce the winner on the 16th of November. Everyone can enter the Giveaway but ofcourse I'd love it if you become a follower!

Mittens week - Wanten week

Now that it's fall and almost winter, it's the season of the gloves and mittens again. That's why next week is Mittens Week on this blog. A week full of posts about nice patterns, lovely books and selfmade mittens. Don't miss it, because ofcourse Mittens Week comes with a Giveaway!

A cute mouse - Een schattige muis

The pattern of this really cute mouse is now available on the website of Caitlin and Marijke Bongers. It is not available in English yet, but a visit to their blog is really worth while! They have so many really nice things on their blog. Therefore, a visit to their shop in Hardinxveld-Giessendam is on my I-wish-to-do-list for some time.

Another little blanket - Nog een klein dekentje

This little blanket is a bit similar to my previous blanket. I love blankets with a lot of red/pink/purple in it, so that's why I've used the same colours again. It is 75 x 75 cm, so it's not very big but it's big enough for a crib. I've sewed the squares before I crocheted the edge around it. It took quite some time, but I thought it was the best way for this blanket.

Mittens - Wanten

Aren't they cute? I made these mittens this weekend and I love them! These are children's mittens, but there's also a pattern for adults. It is really easy to crochet (the pattern is unfortunately not available anymore). I've send this pair to my nieces to see if they fit. If they like them a lot, I will make them another pair because sharing this pair isn't very easy ofcourse. And while I'm at it... would this be a nice Giveaway?

As soon as I saw this footstool I knew: I really want to make this! Isn't this the coolest footstool? The one above this post is crocheted and the one underneath this post is knitted. You can buy a complete set in this webshop with everything you need to knit or crochet the footstool. There are three different colours available and you crochet or knit with hook/needles 12mm or 15mm (it depends on which colour you use). The pattern is only available in Dutch, but on request it can possibly be translated in English. If you want to see it translated, please contact Jantine van Knutseltasjes. The pattern can only be obtained in combination with the knit kit or crochet kit. The wool is for sale seperately as well. Another pattern can be found here.
p.s. unfortunately this shop is closed.

A mushroom - Een paddestoel

I found this crochet mushroom on Lisa's blog. The pattern is very easy, I made this in one evening. Now I need to find a good place for it. It was supposed to be a keychain but it became five times bigger then I expected so that's not very convenient (-: By the way, I do sell a pack of toadstool patterns in my Etsy-shop. Go here to see them.

Squares and... Twitter

Here are some pictures of the squares that I'll be sending to the Knit-A-Square Project. The last square was a real challenge because I wanted to make a flower in the middle. I think it worked out fine and I hope it will look nice when it is part of a blanket.
p.s. did you already see that I'm on Twitter since yesterday? :-) So become a follower on Twitter as well if you don't want to miss out on anything that has to do with this blog. For those of you who don't own a Twitter-account: you can read my tweets in the right sidebar as well.

How to: Squares naaien - Sew squares

Do you remember the pillow that's above this post? On Flickr somebody asked me to describe how I sewed the squares together. It's not very difficult, but I just couldn't find the time to write it down. But this evening I decided to write it down and here it is: how to sew squares. You can also get there by clicking the link on top of this page.
