Granny Square Blanket

Een hele tijd geleden blogde ik al dat ik was begonnen met een kussenhoes (klik hier), maar dat ik er toch een deken van ging maken. Er is alweer ruim een jaar verstreken en nu is de deken eindelijk af. Het is een granny square deken geworden, maar dan niet een vierkant maar een rechthoek (1.05m bij 1.40m). Omdat het een rechthoek is vergde het wat gepuzzel, maar uiteindelijk is het gelukt. Ik heb in feite de granny square gecombineerd met het patroon van de granny stripe. Ik ben er heel erg blij mee, vooral omdat de kleuren precies zo zijn als ik van tevoren had bedacht. Ik haakte de deken met een haaknaald 2.5mm en Cotton 8 garen. Het patroon heb ik uitgeschreven, en bij het patroon zitten twee haakdiagrammen die het geschreven patroon verduidelijken. Er zitten ook foto's bij, zodat je bij twijfel even kunt kijken hoe ik het heb gedaan. Het patroon is vanaf nu hier verkrijgbaar. Het patroon is alleen in het Engels verkrijgbaar.

Some time ago I wrote a blog post about how I started working on a cushion cover (click here). I changed plans and decided to make a blanket of it. Since then more then a year has passed and the blanket is finally finished. It's a giant granny square blanket, but it is not a square but a rectangle (1.05m x 1.40m). Because it is a rectangle, I had to try a few methods, but finally I figured it out. I actually combined the granny square pattern with the granny stripe. I am very happy with how it turned out, because the colors are just what I had in mind. I used a crochet hook size 2.5mm for this blanket, and Cotton 8 yarn. The pattern is a written pattern, and I added two crochet charts that will help you understand the written pattern. I also added some photos to the pattern, so that you can see how I made the more complicated part of the blanket. The pattern is available here as from now. It is available UK terms and US terms.

My cute cat

Dit plaatje vond ik te schattig om niet te delen. Mijn kat viel gisteren in slaap op mijn Ster Kussen en mijn Bobble Stitch kussen. Ik kan me niet voorstellen dat de laatste nou echt lekker ligt, maar mevrouw dacht er vast anders over want ze is er heel lang op blijven liggen. :-)

I thought this picture was too cute not to share. My cat fell asleep on my Star Pillow and Bobble Stitch Pillow. I cannot believe that this is a nice pillow for a cat to sleep on, but she obviously thought otherwise because she didn't move for hours. :-)

Combigurumi

Nou het kan nog net hoor, wanten haken. Het wordt namelijk koud de komende dagen, en deze wantjes heb je zo af. Ik haakte ze met 1 bol Stonewashed XL, een restje roze garen en een haaknaald 5mm. Twee zwarte knoopjes als ogen erbij en ze zijn helemaal af. Het patroontje komt uit het boek Combigurumi waar ik al eerder een blogbericht over schreef. In het boek staan patroontjes van amigurumi, met daarbij dus een bijpassend ander patroon. Bij deze wantjes kun je een bijpassende muis als knuffel haken. Mijn eerdere blogbericht kun je hier lezen. Inmiddels zag ik dat je dit boek nu ook als ebook kunt bestellen. Dan is het boek net iets minder duur en je kunt meteen aan de slag. I'm just in time for crocheting mittens. It's going to be very cold the next few days and these mittens are finished in no-time at all. I made them with 1 ball Stonewashed XL, scraps of pink yarn and a crochet hook size 5mm. Take two black buttons as eyes and they are all done. The pattern is from the book Combigurumi, a book that I wrote about before. In the book you can find amigurumi patterns, with a matching other pattern. Hij is eindelijk klaar, mijn Bobble Stitch Pillow. Ik haakte dit kussen met MillaMia garen wat je hier kunt krijgen. Ik gebruikte in totaal 7 bollen. Vier voor de voorkant (kleur Marine Blue) en drie voor de achterkant (kleur Stone). Aan de achterkant haakte ik namelijk geen bobbels. MillaMia heeft net de collectie uitgebreid met een aantal hele mooie nieuwe kleuren, die zie je op de foto hieronder. Je haakt dit garen met een haaknaald 5mm, maar ik gebruikte een 4mm. Het garen is heel erg zacht en is dus ook heel erg geschikt voor andere gehaakte dingen zoals dekens of kleding. Ik haakte er al eerder deze trui en deze trui mee, en ook dit kussen is met hetzelfde garen gehaakt. Wil je het kussen hierboven maken? Het patroontje kun je gratis downloaden. Klik hier en je kunt een PDF downloaden met daarin een Engelse uitleg (zowel VS terminologie als Engelse terminologie) en natuurlijk ook Nederlands. Het zit allemaal in dezelfde PDF, voor het Nederlands moet je helemaal naar beneden scrollen. It's finally finished, my Bobble Stitch Pillow. I made this pillow with MillaMia yarn which is available here. I used 7 balls in total. For the front I needed 4 balls (color Marine Blue), for the back 3 (color Stone). I didn't make any bobbles on the back, so that's why I needed one ball less. MillaMia just introduced a couple of lovely new shades, you can see them all on the picture below. You can use this yarn with a 5mm crochet hook, but I used a 4mm hook. The yarn is very soft so you can use it for other things as well, like a blanket or garments. I made this sweater and this sweater with this yarn, but also this pillow. Woops! Ik bedacht me ineens dat ik gisteren de volgende boek review zou plaatsen. Maar nu was ik zo druk bezig met het afmaken van het patroon hierboven dat het er helemaal bij in schoot. Hij ligt hier voor me en oh wat is het een leuk boek. Zoomigurumi 5 is weer een vrolijke verzameling van 15 prachtige patroontjes. Een kameel, een flamingo, een forel en een konijn. Het is een kleine greep uit een bonte verzameling met soms niet alledaagse dieren. Ik probeer altijd te bedenken wat ik nou het mooiste patroontje uit een boek vind. Ik denk toch dat ik de forel het mooist vind, maar dat is wel echt na lang twijfelen want het is een boek met gevarieerde patronen die allemaal prachtig zijn. Ik bleef alleen hangen bij de forel omdat ik 'm zo echt vind lijken. Maar de kameel is ook heel grappig en origineel. Nou goed, zoals je ziet is het niet eenvoudig dus kies vooral zelf je favoriet. En als je dat nou hieronder in een reactie vermeld, dan maak je meteen kans om dit prachtige boek te winnen! Ik geef twee exemplaren weg, een Engelstalige en een Nederlandstalige versie. It's here in front of me and oh how I love this gorgeous book. Zoomigurumi 5 is another lovely book with 15 lovely patterns. A camel, a flamingo, a trout and a rabbit. These are just a few of the fun collection of animals in this book. I always try to choose my favourite pattern in a book. I think I loe the trout most, but that's after switching from one pattern to the other because there's such a variety in thisb ook , it's really hard to choose. I chose the trout because it looks so real. But I think the camel is very funny as well. So, as you can see it's not easy to pick a favourite, so pick your own from the picture above. Amigurumi Babydieren Haken

Ik heb al vaker blogberichten geschreven over de boeken van Amigurumipatterns.net en ik ben elke keer weer zo blij als ik lees dat er een nieuw boek verschijnt. Ook al haak ik niet veel amigurumi, de projecten in deze boeken zijn stuk voor stuk schitterend. Ik haakte onlangs deze kleine octopussen uit het boek Amigurumi Babydieren Haken (klik hier om het boek te bestellen). Als je naar de voorkant van het boek kijkt dan weet je dat er ook een moeder bij hoort. Boven de titel staat namelijk 'Haak 12 lieve dierengezinnetjes'. De moeder heb ik nog niet gehaakt, maar eigenlijk is de set pas compleet als je dat wel doet. In dit boek vind je twaalf projecten, bestaande uit een vader of een moeder met een of meer babies. De octopussen hierboven zijn heel makkelijk te maken, maar er staan vooral wat moeilijkere patronen in dit boek. Leuk als je als beginner van een uitdaging houdt, maar vooral bedoeld voor de ervaren haakster. Als je de eerdere boeken al gezien hebt van deze serie dan weet je dat ook dit boek een absolute aanrader is. Joke Vermeiren, degene achter deze boeken, weet elke keer weer de mooiste patronen te verzamelen dus als je de andere boeken mooi vindt dan kun je dit boek zeker ongezien bestellen. Je zult niet teleurgesteld worden. Overigens is er net een spiksplinternieuw boek uit in deze serie: Zoomigurumi 5. A.s. zondag ga ik twee exemplaren weggeven van dat boek, dus zorg dat je zondag langs komt om mee te doen. 

I've written several times about the books from Amigurumipatterns.net and every time I see that a new book is being published I'm so excited. Because even though I don't crochet amigurumi a lot, these books are gorgeous. Just recently I crocheted seven octopuses from the book and if you check out the front of the book, you'll notice that there must be an octopus mom in this book as well. That's because the titel of the book is 'Amigurumi Parent and Baby Animals' (click here to order this book). I didn't make the mom yet, but actually this set is only complete when you do make mom. In this book you'll find 12 projects, that all involve a mom or dad with one or more babies. The octopuses above are very easy to make, but most patterns in this book are a little complicated. If you are a beginner, that can be lots of fun if you love a challenge, but the book is especially fun for the more experienced crocheter. If you've seen more books of this series you know that this book is a must-have. Joke Vermeiren, the person behind these lovely books, is a star in collecting the most gorgeous patterns from around the web. So if you love her other books, then you will love this book and you can order it without having seen any page of it. You will not be disappointed. Star Pillow Pattern

Ik zocht laatst naar een patroon van een kussen in de vorm van een ster maar kon niet vinden wat ik zocht. Dus besloot ik er zelf een te maken. Het leek me zo leuk om deze in bijvoorbeeld twee of meer kleuren op mijn bank te hebben. Het was aardig wat werk maar natuurlijk weer leuk om te doen. Ik gebruikte MillaMia garen en een haaknaald 4mm voor dit kussen. MillaMia garen vind je hier. Het is een heel mooi en superzacht garen. Ik gebruikte geen kussen, maar gewoon fyberfill als vulling. Het kussen is 50cm breed. Het patroon is verkrijgbaar via Etsy (klik hier), Ravelry (klik hier) en LoveCrafts (klik hier).
Ondertussen ben ik ook bezig met mijn volgende boeken review. Vanaf nu zal ik de komende tijd elke woensdag een review plaatsen. Ik zal proberen uit elk boek een project te haken, zodat ook echt goed kan zeggen of de patronen goed leesbaar zijn bijvoorbeeld. Mijn vorige boeken reviews vind je hier. A few weeks ago I was looking for a pillow pattern in the shape of a star. Because I couldn't find what I was looking for I decided to make a pillow myself. I thought it would be lovely to have this pillow in two or more colors on my couch. It was a pretty complicated job but ofcourse I loved doing it. I used MillaMia Naturally Soft Aran and a crochet hook size 4mm for this pillow. You can find MillaMia yarn here. The yarn is lovely and super soft. I didn't use a pillow as a filling, I just used fyberfill. The finished pillow is 50cm wide. The pattern is through Etsy (click here), Ravelry (click here) and LoveCrafts (click here).

For charity

Ik vond nog een aantal foto's van een aantal van de knuffels die ik mee gaf voor Roemenie (klik hier). Het waren allemaal gratis patroontjes: de kat, de muis en de uil. De uil heb ik geen oortjes gegeven, daarom ziet hij er wat vreemd uit. :-) Ik weet niet meer welk patroontje ik voor de schildpadjes gebruikte, maar hier vind je in elk geval een leuk patroon.

I didn't give the owl ears. that's why he looks a little funny. :-) I don't remember what pattern I used for the turtles, but you will find a cute free pattern here.

Kleurrijke feestversieringen haken

Speciaal voor Pasen heb ik dit boekje er eens bij gepakt, want als je het leuk vindt om met de feestdagen iets te haken dan is dit boekje daar uitermate geschikt voor. Ik haakte de vogel en de vlinder, en allebei vind ik ze erg leuk voor in de paastakken op tafel. Het boekje is geschreven door Margriet de Muinck, en zij maakte nog twee van die boekjes die net zo vrolijk gekleurd zijn als dit boekje (Kleurrijke hebbedingetjes haken en Kleurrijke cadeautjes haken). In 2013 heeft zij als gast blogger een leuk stukje geschreven op mijn blog, dat kun je hier teruglezen.
In het boekje Kleurrijke feestversieringen haken vind je 17 vrolijke patroontjes. Het vogeltje is zeker geschikt voor beginners, de vlinder vond ik iets ingewikkelder en al bladerend trof ik nog wat patroontjes aan die meer geschikt zijn voor een gevorderde haakster omdat de uitleg niet overal even duidelijk is. Als ik nog een project uit dit boekje zou moeten haken dan zou het zeker de granny square kerstbal zijn, maar omdat het nog lang geen Kerst is bewaar ik dat patroontje nog even voor later dit jaar. Now that it's almost Easter I grabbed this book from my bookshelf, because if you would like to make something for the holidays this book is absolutely perfect. I made the bird and the butterfly, and I think they look pretty cute hanging on some branches on the Easter table. The book was written by Margriet de Muinck, and she made two other books that are just as colorful as this book (Kleurrijke hebbedingetjes haken en Kleurrijke cadeautjes haken). In 2013 Margriet was a guest blogger on my blog, click here to read the story she wrote back then.
In the book Kleurrijke feestversieringen haken you will find 17 happy projects. The bird is lovely for beginners, the butterfly was a bit more complicated and as I scrolled through the book I found some other patterns that are more suitable for an experienced crocheter as the patterns are not always very clear. If I would make another project from this book it would certainly be the granny square Christmas ball, but now that Christmas is months away I'll save that pattern for later this year. We heten allebei Annemarie, we hebben allebei boekjes uitgebracht bij Forte Uitgevers dus we worden nogal eens door elkaar gehaald. Ik heb het natuurlijk over Annemarie Arts, die al zo vreselijk veel leuke haakpatronen publiceerde dat het bijna niet bij te houden is. Op haar blog kun je lezen dat ze afgelopen week de fotoshoot voor haar volgende boek heeft gehad en op haar facebook-pagina zag ik een kleine sneakpeak. Een van haar recente patroontjes is het patroon van de Bobble Granny Squares die je hierboven op de foto ziet. Ik vind het zo'n leuk idee! We have the same name (Annemarie), we both published books at Forte Publishers and we get mixed up a lot. I'm talking about Annemarie Arts, who published so any lovely patterns that I almost lost count. If you follow her blog you have probably read that last week she had a photo shoot for her next book and on her facebook-page you could see a tiny sneak peak. Her website is here, and an overview of all books she made is here. One of her more recent patterns it the pattern of the Bobble Granny Squares that you see on the picture above. I love the idea! You can combine the squares with letters and numbers, so you will have your own personalized blanket. Crochet Cat

Katten! Ik vind ze superlief en natuurlijk heb ik er eentje in huis. Maar ik heb ook al flink wat gehaakt en ik ben altijd op zoek naar nieuwe patroontjes van katten. Dit patroontje vond ik hier. Het is een heel leuk gratis patroontje en makkelijk te maken. Meer blogberichten en patroontjes van katten vind je hier. Book Review: Crochet with Color

Dit is echt een van de leukste boeken die ik de laatste tijd in handen heb gehad: Haken in Kleur van Kazuko Ryokai. Het is een kleurrijk boek vol prachtige patronen, vooral bedoeld voor de gevorderde haakster. Je moet haakschema's kunnen lezen, want bijna alle patroontjes zijn op die manier weergegeven. Ik haakte de deken hierboven aan de hand van zo'n haakschema uit het boek. Ik gebruikte Phildar Phil Coton 4, een haaknaald 3mm. Per bol kon ik in elk geval twee vlakken maken, maar ik denk dat je drie ook net redt (ik gebruikte heel veel kleuren, vandaar dat ik het niet zeker weet). Ik was dat niet zo gewend maar eigenlijk ging het heel makkelijk. In het boek staan 25 patronen: pannenlappen en onderzetters, maar ook de deken hierboven en een aantal sjaals. Daarnaast - en dat vond ik een wat vreemde eend in de bijt - een aantal miniatuurfruit-patroontjes. Ondanks dat het er misschien niet helemaal in past zijn het wel erg leuke patroontjes. Het boek is erg mooi vormgegeven, en alhoewel de inhoud wat mij betreft belangrijker is wil het oog natuurlijk ook wat. En dit boek ziet er dus gewoon heel mooi uit. Een aanrader? Ja, absoluut! This is really one of the most fun books I've seen the past few months: Crochet with Color by Kauko Ryokai. It's a lovely colorful book full of gorgeous patterns, meant for the more experienced crocheter. You need to know how to read crochet schemes, because most patterns in this book are schemes. I crocheted the blanket above with a crochet scheme from this book. I used Phildar Phil Coton 4 and a crochet hook size 3mm. I could make two squares out of 1 ball cotton, but I think you can make 3 of 1 ball (I used many colors, that's why I'm not sure). I wasn't used to working with schemes, but overall it was pretty easy. In the book you will find 25 patterns: coasters and other accessories, but also the blanket above and a few scarfs. Besides that - and that was a bit odd - a few mini fruit patterns. Although it somehow doesn't really fit in the book, these patterns are really cute. The book has a lovely feel, and although the content is most important if you ask me, it's always nice to have a good looking book. And this book really looks gorgeous. Is it a must-have? Soms kom je van die leuke webwinkels met haakpatroontjes tegen, en dan wil je er heel graag meer van weten. Dat had ik bij de webwinkel KunstigDatWel. Hedy is de eigenaresse, en ik was heel erg verrast te lezen dat ze pas anderhalf jaar haakt en dan al zulke leuke patroontjes ontwerpt. Zoals velen van ons was ze als kind altijd heel creatief, maar van freubelen kwam het al heel lang niet meer. Toen ze op een gegeven moment ziek thuis kwam te zitten besloot ze weer aan de slag te gaan, en toen ze vorig jaar haar baan verloor besloot ze een webshop te openen met handgemaakte producten. Inmiddels richt ze zich alleen nog maar op dat wat ze het allerleukste vind: het ontwerpen van haakpatroontjes. De patroontjes die nu in haar winkel te vinden zijn zijn pas het begin van nog veel meer. Daarnaast geeft ze haakworkshops in deze winkel, waar je ook haar haakpakketten en patronen kunt kopen.
Ik vind het geweldig leuk dat Hedy aan een van mijn volgers een haakpakket (klik hier) wil weggeven. In dat pakket vind je alles wat je nodig hebt om de pop op de foto hierboven te maken. Every now and then you see a webshop with lovely crochet patterns, where you would love to find out more about the owner. That's what happened when I entered the webshop KunstigDatWel. Hedy is the owner, and I was very surprised to see that she's been crocheting for only a year and a half. She already has such lovely patterns in her shop! Like many of us she was very creative as a child, but using her crafty skills was something she hadn't done for a long time. When she became ill and was forced to stay home from work she decided to start crafting again, and when she lost her job last year she opened a shop with handmade items.
Rigt now she's doing what she loves the most: designing crochet patterns. The patterns that are available in her shop now are just the beginning of lots more. Besides that she teaches crochet in this shop, where you can buy her crochet kits and patterns as well.

Snoopy!

Viind jij Snoopy ook zo lief? Ik had er vroeger stripboeken van dus voor mij is het een beetje jeugdsentiment. Dit leuke pakket is ontworen door Kristen Rask. Ik had van haar al eerder een heel leuk haakpakket en dat boekje heb ik nog steeds. De patronen uit dat boekje waren heel helder uitgeschreven, dus ik verwacht dat dat met dit boekje weer zo zal zijn. In het pakket zit alles wat je nodig hebt. Wol, een naald, een haaknaald en vulling. Je kunt meteen aan de slag. Je kunt dit superleuke pakket hier bestellen.

Do you like Snoopy just as much as I do? I used to read comic books about Snoopy when I was younger, so this book brings back many good memories. This lovely crochet kit was designed by Kristen Raks. I had another crochet kit that she designed and I still have the booklet that came with it. The patterns in that booklet were very well written, so I expect this booklet to be just as clear. Granny Stripe Blanket

Vandaag even geen boek review. Ik ben namelijk nog druk bezig met een project uit een boek waar ik erg enthousiast over ben. Volgende week zal ik jullie er alles over vertellen. Nu eerst een project waar ik een tijd geleden aan begonnen was. De Granny Stripe naar een patroon van Attic24 (klik hier). Hij lag een tijd in mijn kast en was nog lang niet af, dus toen ik 'm deze herfst weer te voorschijn haalde was het nog een hele klus. Ik moest nog heel veel toeren haken en de rand moest er ook nog omheen. Maar vlak voor Kerst was hij af en ik was erg blij met het resultaat. Omdat ik al best veel dekens heb heb ik deze meegegeven aan de mensen die naar Roemenie gingen (klik hier). Ik hoop dat de deken daar een goeie bestemming heeft gevonden. Ik haakte de deken met Drops Paris en een haaknaald 4mm. Je kunt de deken ook met Paintbox Yarns Cotton Aran haken. Dat is een vergelijkbaar garen. Today there's no book review. That is because I'm still working on a project from a book that I am totally thrilled about. I will tell you all about it next week. In this blog post I would like to tell you about a project that I started a long time ago. The Granny Stripe was made by a pattern of Attic24 (click here). It was in my closet a long time and it wasn't finished at all when I started working on it again last fall. I still had to make lots of rows and the edging. But I finished it just before Christmas and I was very happy with the result. Because I have a lot of blankets, I decided to give this one away to the charity project for Romania (click here). I hope this blanket found a happy new owner. I made the blanket with Drops Paris and a crochet hook size 4mm. You can use another yarn as well, like Paintbox Yarns Cotton Aran. That's a similar yarn. Long Sleeved Toddlers Sweater

Vond je het truitje met de korte mouwtjes leuk (klik hier), maar haak je liever een truitje met lange mouwen? Ook daar heb ik nu een gratis patroontje voor op de website van LoveCrochet gezet. Als je hier klikt kun je het downloaden en kun je zien hoeveel MillaMia-garen ik gebruikte voor dit truitje. Het truitje is bedoeld voor een peuter. In het patroontje vind je een versie met Engelse haaktermen, een versie met Amerikaanse haaktermen en natuurlijk ook een versie in het Nederlands.

Heerlijk Haken!

En toen was het alweer tijd voor de volgende review. Dit keer het boek van Vicarno's mama: Annelies Baes (klik hier voor haar blog). Ze maakte het boek Heerlijk Haken (klik hier). Het boek bestaat uit vier gedeeltes: Klaar voor Buiten, Vol van Kleur, Prinsen en Prinsessen en Zachtheid, Luxe en Comfort.

Het boek ziet er aan de buitenkant erg mooi uit en de foto's zijn mooi en duidelijk. Ik haakte de Piramide Omslagdoek. Een heel mooi patroon wat heel helder beschreven is. Ik heb nog niet zo vaak met haakdiagrammen gewerkt, dus ik vond het fijn dat ik behalve het diagram ook een uitgeschreven patroon aantrof. Zo kon ik meteen oefenen met het haakdiagram. Ik verklap nu alvast: dat zal bij een van mijn volgende reviews nog goed van pas komen. Het patroon is niet heel ingewikkeld en haakt heel fijn weg. Ik gebruikte drie bollen Stylecraft Special DK (kleur Meadow) en een haaknaald 4mm. Ik ga deze sjaal zeker nog een keer haken, al is het alleen maar omdat ik de sjaal ook graag in een andere kleur wil een het patroon ook eens met ander garen wil uitproberen.

Over de rest van het boek kan ik zeggen dat het erg de moeite waard is, vooral als je het leuk vindt om ook voor kinderen te haken. Je vindt in het boek onder meer truitjes, handschoenen, mutsen en sjaals. Alle patronen zijn uitgeschreven, bij een enkel patroon vind je ook een haakdiagram. It's already time for the second book review. This time the book of Vicarno's mama: Annelies Baes (click here to go to her blog). She made the book Heerlijk Haken (click here). The book is divided into four parts: Ready for Outside, Full of Color, Princess and Princesses and Softness, Luxury and Comfort.
The book looks really nice on the outside and the pictures are pretty and clear. I made the Piramide Shawl. A lovely pattern that's described very well. I haven't crocheted with diagrams very often, so I was very happy to see that there was a diagram and a written pattern of this shawl in the book. This way I could practice working with diagrams. And I can tell you already: this appeared to be very handy for one of my next book reviews. The pattern isn't very complicated and it was finished quickly. I used 3 balls of Stylecraft Special DK (color Meadow) and a crochet hook size 4mm. I will definitely make this scarf again, because I loved the pattern and I would love to try it with other yarn in another color.

About the rest of the book I can say that it's gorgeous. This is a must-have if you love making projects for children. You will find (amongst others) sweaters, gloves, hats and scarfs in the book. Super, Super Cute Crochet

Ik heb natuurlijk een enorme stapel haakboeken liggen, en opeens bedacht ik me dat het misschien leuk is om daar wat reviews over te schrijven. En als ik dan uit elk boek iets haak, dan kan ik jullie heel precies vertellen wat ik van de patroontjes vind. Dus vandaag is het eerste boek van een heel aantal aan de beurt, ik hoop dat jullie het leuk vinden.
Als je de titel van dit boek ziet, Schattige Huisdieren Haken, dan verwacht je er natuurlijk ook heel wat van. Dat boek moet vol staan met superschattige diertjes om te haken. Ik heb het boek al een tijdje in huis en haakte er al een aantal patroontjes uit. Bijvoorbeeld de walvis (klik hier), een van mijn favorieten uit dit boek. Het boek is in vier onderwerpen opgedeeld: boerderijvriendjes, waterwereld, uitheemse dieren en ondergronds/bovengronds. Er staan meer dan dertig patroontjes in. Sommige zijn echt nog schattiger dan andere. Het konijntje is geweldig lief, net als de cavia en de Russische dwerghamster. Het vogelbekdier is niet heel erg knap (in het echt ook niet geloof ik :-)) maar met een beetje fantasie toverde ik 'm om in een klein eendje (klik hier). Het roodborstje op de foto hierboven haakte ik speciaal voor deze review. Een makkelijk patroontje wat goed te volgen is. Alleen de staart vond ik wat onduidelijk. Dat kan aan de vertaling liggen want dat zie je wel vaker, maar als je een beetje ervaring hebt dan kun je makkelijk je eigen draai aan de staart geven. Vind ik dit boek een aanrader? Ja, dat vind ik zeker. Doet de titel recht aan de inhoud? Ja, absoluut. De manta, de flamingo en de kikker: ze staan allemaal op mijn to do lijstje. Er staan een aantal unieke dieren in dit boek en dat maakt het echt de moeite waard. Wil je dit boek graag aanschaffen? Of course I have a huge pile of crochet books, and suddenly I thought that it must be fun to write reviews about them. And if I make something from every book that I write about, I can tell you exactly what I think of the patterns. So today I will tell you about the first book, I hope you like it!
Looking at the title of this book (Super, Super Cute Crochet), I expect a lot. This book must be filled with very cute animals to crochet. I had the book on my book shelf for some time and I made a lot of patterns from it. For instance the whale (click here), one of my favorites in this book. The book is divided in four parts: Farmyard Friends, The Life Aquatic, Animals from Afar and Underground/overground. There are over 30 patterns in this book. Some are even cuter then others. The rabbit is extremely cute, just like the guinea pig and the hamster. The platypus isn't very handsome (but I don't think he is in real :-)) but with a little twist I turned him into a cute duckling (click here). For this review I made the robin on the picture above this post. It's a very easy pattern that's written very well. I only had some trouble with the tail. This could be because of the fact that I have a translated book. Sometimes translators make mistakes, but if you have some experience you can easily make a tail that looks cute for this bird. 
Do I think this book is a must-have? Yes, I certainly do. Do I think the title covers the book? Yes it does. The manta ray, the flamingo, the frog: they are all on my to do list.
