Crochet Hearts Pattern

I can be a little chaotic sometimes. While I'm crocheting I'm writing down patterns on the first paper that comes to hand. And I don't put them away neatly, no, they sometimes just disappear. I've lost a lot of crochet patterns because of this, so I decided to make a photo of the pattern from the hearts above. But when your Ipad crashes and all your pictures are gone... so I looked for the written pattern again and I found it somewhere on the bottom of a box of pencils. I'll write it down right now, just in case I loose it again. Enjoy! *** English pattern is below the Dutch pattern. ***

Hartjes (gemaakt met Phildar Phil Coton 4 and a crochet hook size 3mm)
1. Haak 6 vasten in een magische ring.
2. Meerder rondom. (12)
3. 12 vasten.
4. 12 vasten.
5. 12 vasten. Hecht af.
Je hebt nu het eerste bovenkantje gehaakt.

Hearts (made with Phildar Phil Coton 4 and a crochet hook size 3mm)
1. 6 single crochet in a magic ring.
2. Increase around. (12)
3. 12 single crochet.
4. 12 single crochet.
5. 12 single crochet. Fasten off.
You've now finished the first upper halve.
6. Repeat rows 1-5 but don't fasten off.
Now you will attach both upper halves. You can do that by crocheting single crochet stitches in each stitch of the first upper halve you made. When you've done that, you continue crocheting single crochet stitches in the second upper halve. In total you did 24 single crochet stitches.
7. 24 single crochet.
8. 2 single crochet, decrease. Repeat five more times. (18)
9. 18 single crochet.
10. 1 single crochet, decrease. Repeat five more times. (12)
11. 12 single crochet. Fill the heart with fyberfill.
12. Decrease around. (6)
13. Decrease two more times and fasten off.

And again she managed to publish another fun and lovely book: Joke Vermeiren from Amgirumupatterns.net. I was lucky to receive this gorgeous book and to get the chance to write a review about it.
So I got started and decide that the best way to find out if a crochet book meets your expectations is to give one of the patterns a try, and so I did. I tried the pattern of William, a worm who's eating his way through a yummy looking apple. The pattern has three stars, which means that it is for an experienced crocheter. Well, I guess I am so I started working on it. I followed the pattern and started working on the apple. Everything went well until at a certain point you need to attach the hole to the inside of the apple. You know, the hole that William made which is a part that you make seperately. When I arrived at the point where I had to attach the hole to the apple, I hadn't made the hole yet. I was wondering: is the pattern written in the wrong order? Or should I have read the pattern before I started, then I surely would have noticed it. Oh well, I made the hole in between and then I finished the rest of the pattern.
The pattern itself is very well written. It is clear and it's faultless. I loved the pictures that came with the pattern, that helped me through the parts where it could have been slightly confusing.
The book has 15 patterns and I really love most of them. I've never found a book where I loved all patterns, but with this book I must say: I love 99%. Which is a very good score I believe. If you are interested in the book, you can get your copy here. If you have the book (or if you have one of the other Zoomigurumi books) let me know what you think of them below. I'd love to read what you think of it!

Cute bunnies

I always love to try tiny crochet patterns, and with all those cute applique patterns on the internet I never have a dull moment. I found this cute little pattern here. I made these bunnies with Phildar Phil Coton 4. Before you know it you have a bowl filled with bunnies, but with Easter coming up that's not bad at all. I think it will look very cute when they hang in a couple of branches on the dining table during Easter. Are you going to make some too? The English pattern is here. I've translated the pattern into Dutch (see below). Enjoy!

Patroon
2. Haak 2 lossen. Haak 3 stokjes + 1 half stokje in het volgende stokje (dus allemaal in dezelfde steek),
3. Haak 10 lossen. Doe 1 halve vaste bovenin het halve stokje. Haak opnieuw 10 lossen. Haak weer 1 halve vaste in hetzelfde halve stokje.

Combigurumi

I updated my page with free patterns. Click here to see it!

Some time ago I received this book. It's called Combigurumi, and that is because there is a lovely combination of patterns in it. Besides amigurumi there are a lot of matching patterns in it. For instance: the cuddle blanket I made comes with a pattern of matching baby shoes and a  matching dog toy. There are a lot of combined projects in this book. The pattern of the cuddle blanket was very easy to follow, although sometimes I had to use stitches that I didn't expect and that's why I made a few tiny mistakes. But that's because I didn't read well. In the end I finished it pretty quickly and I really love how it turned out. What I really like about this pattern is that the ears stay upright by themselves. It really turned out to be a cute dog. There are more patterns in this book that I really love. I have to make the turtle rucksack one day, and the mice mittens are very cute as well.
The writers of this book are Sacha from the blog A la Sascha and Dennis who we all know better as DenDennis from this website. Do you want to see more of the book? You can order it here and by using the preview option you can see very clear what projects are in the book.

Boho Crochet

My projects in: Boho Crochet - 30 Hip and Happy projects

I am very proud to announce that I've contributed to a gorgeous new book: Boho Crochet! It's on my desk for a couple of weeks now, and it was very hard not to mention it any sooner. But finally it's here! The pictures are fresh and all ready for Spring, the projects are colorful and happy. There are four designs by me in the book, and I must say that the book editor did a brilliant job in finding matching projects. There are over 30 projects in the book, and they were made by ten different designers. All designers have a blog or an Etsy-shop (or both) that you might have seen around already. I will blog about them in the upcoming weeks. Even if you're not interested in buying the book it's really nice to get to know the contributors, because their work is amazing.
The book is available in two versions (see below for the cover and the difference): a version with UK/English patterns (click here) and a version with US/English patterns (click here) and also in Dutch (click here). If you decide to buy the book, I hope you'll like it. I crocheted all projects that I made for this book with Phildar Coton 3. If you decide to buy the book and make my patterns, I advise you to use this yarn as it is not only a very lovely yarn, it will also give the best result for my projects. Have a lovely Sunday!
